Priest's Message

St. Francis De sales parish (MSFS) is one of the young parish in the archdiocese of Bangalore. It was officially erected as the parish in 1984 by his grace late Archbishop Arogyaswamy then Archbishop of Bangalore. It was a tiny parish and masses were celebrated in a farm house and then shifted to school building. It took almost 20 years to build the present New Church in the year 1998 on the 16th of August, by the then parish priest Fr. Mathew Kuzhuppakalam.

Now at present in the last 10 years the church is rapidly growing because of the Software companies and the industries around. Added to that we have in the campus SFS School and college which in another added attraction from Catholics to come around to admit their children in our SFS School and college.

The parish under the patronage of St. Francis De sales the gentleman Saint tries constantly to build a strong parish community. We still lack the some of the facilities in our parish, but in few years time with the help of the parishioners and community we will build our parish with self Sufficiency. We have an able parish Council who really work hard for faith formation in organizing various feast meaningfully and conduct renewal retreats for the parishioners.

We also have pious associations such as Legion of Mary, St. Vincent De Paul, and SFS – youth who are also the strength for our parish. They too join hands with the parish priest and with the rest of the parish communities to build a faith centered community.

As seen in our pope’s message in the recent document ‘Evangeli Gaudium’ - sharing the good news, it is possible to imitate Christ who is our model. We try with the parish members and the various active groups such as parish council, Legion of Mary, the Vincent De Paul, finance committee and the SFS – youth to help those people who are in need in the parish community.

The church is also kept open for the people and the school children to come and pray. It is beautiful to see lot of young children from the school of college come and pray every day. As St. Francis De Sales our patron who is a gentleman Saint and a good pastor who followed Christ on a great missionary, we the parish members along with the parish council members, finance committee and the pious association we try our best to serve and praise our lord and master Jesus Christ.

Yours is Christ Jesus
